Edward J. Doerksen, 89, passed away Feb. 2, 2022, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson, with his family by his side. He was born March 8, 1932, outside of Buhler to John R. and Edna (Bergen) Doerksen. On August 12, 1956, he married Lois C. Bether. She passed away on October 6, 2013.
Edward served as the Buhler City Superintendent for 41 years and had owned Ed’s Chainsaw Shop for over 30 years. He was a member of Buhler Mennonite Church and had later attended Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Pamela (Gary) Branscom, Hutchinson; son, Randy (Pam) Doerksen, Hutchinson; brother, Robert Doerksen, Denver, CO; sister, Vernabelle Pedersen, Newport, WA; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his wife; son, Edward Doerksen Jr.; and a sister, Darlean Hein.
Friends may sign the book from 2-4 pm Sunday, February 6th at Inman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 7th at Buhler Mennonite Church, with burial to follow at Buhler Municipal Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook page.
