
SALINA, Kan. — Hutchinson finished sixth Monday at the AVCTL Division I boys golf tournament at Salina Municipal Golf Course.
Maize South won the team title with a 298, led by individual co-medalists Alex Burroughs and Joe Binger, who each shot 73 on the par-70 course. Valley Center was second with a 328, followed by Derby at 339, Salina South at 340 and Maize at 344.
Hutchinson finished with a 354 team score. Campus was seventh with a 368.
Maks Dreiling led the Salthawks with an 81, finishing eighth individually. Dreiling opened with a 38 on the front nine before shooting 43 on the back.
Alex Haas added an 86 to finish tied for 17th. Kye Reneau shot 93, Kale Dreiling finished with a 94 and Teagan England shot 99.
Maize South had four players inside the top five. Burroughs shot 37-36, while Binger carded a 34 on the front nine and a 39 on the back. Conrad Parkhurst and Travis Black each finished tied for fourth with 76s.
