
Robert “Bob” Owen McCue, 95, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at his home in Hutchinson, KS.
Bob was born February 23, 1925 in Hastings, NE, the son of Bernard L. and Helen (Caldwell) McCue. In October 1943, Bob enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged in November 1945. On April 2, 1947 he married Charlotte R. Riggs in Hutchinson, KS. They were married for over 60 years. Bob was an owner- operator of a trucking company and was a truck driver for most of his career. He was enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid Hutchinson High Sports fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte; daughter, Sue Wagler; four brothers and two sisters.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Deron (Debbie) McCue and Gary McCue; one daughter, Kelle (Jim) Stewart; a brother, Jerry McCue; a sister, Janey Smith; nine grandchildren, Lucas (Jennifer) Wagler, Logan (Jennifer) Wagler, Mackenzie (Scott) Harvison, Amanda, Deron Jr., and Haley McCue, Fallyn (Joel) Morris, Tanner (Jade Henderson) Stewart and Jayden Hill; 13 great grandchildren, Carter, Presley, Holden, Brooklyn, Landon and Keaton Wagler, Hank, Holly and Weston Harvison, Preslie and Shaylie Brown, Kynslie Morris and Clayton Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Monite McFerrin officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Reno County Veterans Memorial and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks are required.
