HAYSVILLE, Kan.,-The Hutch High Salthawk basketball teams swept Campus Tuesday night with both teams earning convincing wins.

Hutch High girls continued their unbeaten streak with a convincing 50-17 win over Campus, while the Salthawk Boys used a smothering defensive effort in the second half to defeat the Colts 57-25.

Girls Recap:

Kaia Smith led the Salthawk girls with 16 points while Tenley Keeton came off the bench to chip in 10 points for scoring honors as the 3-0 Salthawks took a 27-7 lead and ran away from the Colts to win easily.

Campus was lead by junior guard Addison Wood with 7 points.

Boys Recap:

Hutch High had eight different plays score on Tuesday night with senior forward Taishaun Govain leading the pack with 11 points. Lucas Whitt scored 9 while Levi Kepler and Lamar Govain added 8 apiece. Danny Boone and Terrell King each had 7 points.

Hutch High held Campus to only two baskets in the second half plus only four free throws in the third quarter. Landon Brown and Tamarien Moore led Campus with eight points each.

Leading by eight at halftime, the Salthawks were able to force a running clock in the final quarter by extending the lead to 46-20 before outscoring Campus 11-4 in the final quarter for the win.

Hutchinson returns home on Friday to close out 2024 by hosting Arkansas City at the SAC with varsity games beginning at 6pm.
