HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County area recorded two more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the total to 103. Fifty-two reported COVID-19 deaths have occurred in the county in the past 30 days.

If there is a silver lining, it appears that the number of active cases of COVID are on a continued downward trend. As of Thursday, there were 455 active cases of the pandemic with 449 in the community. The number of active cases has dropped by more than 1,000 since it peaked at 1,513 Nov. 29. The number of active cases has fallen by 135 since Christmas. It is not known if that trend will go up after the holidays or not. Just after Thanksgiving there was a moderate increase in cases.

There have been 6,496 positive cases with 5,908 recoveries. There have been 20,452 tests administered with an overall positive test rate of 26.8%.
