Jimmy Wayne Slaughter, 71, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at Pratt Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 10, 1950 in Moran, to James "Pete" Franklin and Bernice Lenore (Cornelsen) Slaughter. Jimmy married Opal Arlene (Kinney) Slaughter on December 26, 1970 at First Church of God, Pratt. They were married for 51 years.

Jimmy graduated from Cedarvale High School. He worked at Pratt Well Service for many years and most recently for Advantek in Hutchinson. He enjoyed gambling, fishing, doing lawn care, attending auctions, traveling back to his hometown and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was jack of many trades.

He is survived by his wife, Opal; children, Arlene (Randy) Rice of Pratt; Arthur (Amy) Slaughter of Pratt; Terry (Lisa) Slaughter of Pratt; and Jimmy L. (Stacey) Slaughter of Pratt; grandchildren, Timothy (fiance' Kaitlyn) Slaughter, Cheyenne Slaughter, Dalton Slaughter, Jennifer Slaughter, Morgan Slaughter, Riley Slaughter, Noah Slaughter, Kalli Otto, Ashley Gonzalez, Jessica Wehling, Jo Wehling, Katelyn Slaughter, Shawn Slaughter and Kameron Slaughter; great-grandchildren, Trinidy Slaughter, Johnathain Slaughter, Harper Hughes, Alyssa Cates, Lilly Gonzales, Gardner Cates and Theo Gonzales.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Florence Louise Buck and Mary Ilene Kingsley; grandson, James Slaughter; granddaughter, Danielle Rice and great granddaughter, Nova Banuelos.

Visitation will be Monday 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Larrison Mortuary with John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
