Et Cetera Shop
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Et Cetera Shop, 22 North Main in Hutchinson, recently distributed second quarter donations to the following non profits.
GLOBALLY
· Mennonite Central Committee (MCC)--$10,000—MCC designated Et Cetera’s donation to a project in Zambia where severe drought has affected food production and access to water. MCC is partnering with the Compassionate Ministry of the Brethren in Christ Church of Zambia to help alleviate the hunger of 475 families.
LOCALLY
· Live Free Ministries--$2,000—Live Free Ministries ministers to over 50 addicts daily and also provides shelter for them.
· Guardians of the Children--$2,000—Guardians of the Children help and support abused children by providing school supplies, clothing as needed and much more.
· Victory Village Christian Academy--$2,000—Victory Village is a ministry of showing God’s unconditional, healing love to teen age girls.
· Beyond Barriers--$2,000—Beyond Barriers believes that people with disabilities deserve to live independently. They provide resources, training, and education free of charge to their consumers to help them lead fulfilling lives.
· St. Vincent de Paul--$2,000—St. Vincent de Paul works with people in need by providing groceries for friends in need, keeping roofs over heads, and keeping lights and utilities on. They also offer help in building relationships in the name of Jesus, knowing that they are his hands and feet.
With nearly 100 volunteers, The Et Cetera Shop is a thrift store relying on donations from the Hutchinson community and surrounding area. In addItion to the Et Cetera Shop, a second store, Builders Bargains, at 329 West 5th, also relies on donations and offers plumbing, electrical, tools and construction supplies along with furniture and appliances to its customers. Medical supplies are also available at the West 5th location.
The Et Cetera Shop is open Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Builders is open on Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and on the first and third Saturdays of each month, 9:00 a.m. – noon. Donations are accepted at both locations during business hours.
