Junior Jay Base, 67, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022, at McPherson Hospital. He worked at Central Plastics, McPherson as a fork lift &amp; grinding operator and most recently worked in the fabrication department. Junior was born on November 27, 1954, in Moundridge, KS, the son of Ralph and Lavada Marie (Nightingale) Base. On April 4, 1982, Junior was united in marriage to Darla Koehn. He later married Jill Anderson on February 14, 1987. Survivors include: his daughter, Mariah (Travis) Sawyer of McPherson, KS; one grandson, Jordan Sawyer of McPherson, KS; a brother, Earl (Chloe) Base of Galva, KS; two nieces, Teri (Dwayne) Mastre of Galva, KS and Audrey (Brandon) Koehn of Galva, KS; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Verna Base. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, February 7, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at United Center Mennonite Church, Galva. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
