SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kutter's Furniture is the Market South Hutch Business of the Month. Craig Clinton, Vice President at Kutter's Furniture said he has learned to love the business.
"It's nothing I intended on doing," Clinton said. "Once I graduated from college, I moved out here, was engaged with my wife and started this out as being an internship until she graduated. They kind of roped me in for the long term. I really do enjoy it. It's been very good."
It's not just a family thing for the owners, now it's become one for the customers, as well.
"We've been here long enough now that we see people's kids coming in with their parents, saying our parents bought everything from you guys," Clinton said. "This is where they told us to go."
Kutter's doesn't play the traditional mark up and then discount game you might see at other furniture stores.
"What we have been known for a long time is our pricing," Clinton said. "Whether you shop locally, or Wichita, or surrounding areas, you'll always find the best, lowest price here. We do that from an efficiency standpoint and the way we buy and just our overall concept. We don't play a lot of games with our pricing. We're not up here and then one week down lower and then in the middle and all that. First time I bring it in, I put our very best price on, first time around. We don't negotiate pricing, because we're already at our very best pricing."
Kutter's service also sets them apart.
"We're a family owned company," Clinton said. "We look long term. We don't look just short term. We take care of the customer, because we know we're going to rely on their business in the future."
Kutter's is at 2100 S K96 Hwy South of South Hutchinson. They are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
