WICHITA, Kan. — Halstead and Hesston will each be represented at the Class 3A state boys golf tournament following a competitive regional held Tuesday at Tallgrass Country Club.
Host Wichita-Trinity Academy claimed the regional title with a team score of 339, while Wichita-Collegiate finished second at 343. Both teams qualified for the state tournament.
Halstead’s Maxx Linton secured an individual state berth with a 17-over-par 88.
Hesston advanced two individual qualifiers: Austin Penner, who shot an 87, and Grant Waterson, who finished with an 88. Teammate Eli Frantz narrowly missed the cut after carding a 90.
The Class 3A state tournament is scheduled for May 27-28 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City.
