Repeat drug offender arrested after chase

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Wednesday, Repeat Offender Unit Officers from the Hutchinson Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Scott L. Lutz of 903 East Avenue A. Lutz fled from officers and the pursuit went into Rice County before the vehicle was stopped.

When the pursuit ended, Lutz was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Flee and Elude. Lutz was in possession of illegal narcotics, including 171 grams of methamphetamine, and he was later booked into the Reno County Correctional Facility on a $250,000 bond.

The Hutchinson Police Department would like to thank Reno County Sheriff’s Department and Rice County Sheriff’s Department in their assistance in the apprehension of Lutz.
