Reno County Child Care Task Force
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Child Care Task Force is expanding and seeking committed individuals to join in building systematic, sustainable, and equitable child care solutions for providers, parents, and businesses throughout Reno County.
Over the next five years, the Reno County Child Care Task Force has outlined several critical goals: increasing the availability of quality child care options based on established assessment criteria, ensuring that both parents and providers have access to high-quality choices, fostering sustainability and systemic improvements in the child care sector, and supporting the development of local co-ops and infrastructure to strengthen the child care system in Reno County.
The task force is responsible for several key functions, including creating a transparent and trustworthy process for initiatives, securing and managing funding through a separate decision-making group, and developing effective communication systems. Additionally, the task force provides the necessary structure and support to execute its goals, ensures that the right members are involved to achieve its objectives, and holds organizations and partners accountable within the system. Monitoring progress on project plans, overseeing the budget, and identifying additional resources are also central to the task force’s responsibilities.
Responsibilities of Task Force Members:
Task force members will be expected to:
Utilize their social capital when necessary to advance the task force's goals
Have sufficient authority within their organization to confidently represent it
Maintain confidentiality
Commit to attending monthly meetings and participating in additional activities
