The McPherson County Sheriff's Office is warning residents to avoid driving through flooded roadways as several areas across the county continue to experience high water levels following hours of heavy rainfall.
Numerous drivers have required rescue after becoming stranded in floodwaters, stretching emergency response resources and prompting renewed calls for public caution.

“If there is water over the road, find another route,” the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post. “Rescue resources need to be available for incidents of danger beyond one's control.”
The sheriff's office urges residents to monitor changing weather conditions and remain updated through local news outlets. Flooding continues to impact multiple locations, with conditions expected to evolve through the day.
Drivers are reminded to never attempt to cross flooded roads, as even a few inches of moving water can sweep away vehicles.
