WACO, Texas – Sophomore Hugo Duquaine shot a career-low 66 in the second round of the Waco River Classic on Monday and helped the No. 1-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's golf team to a 10-stroke lead after 36 holes.
With a tournament field that includes No. 2 Weatherford, No. 5 New Mexico Junior College, No. 7 Midland and No. 9 McLennan, the top-ranked Blue Dragons posted a 20-under 556 in the first two rounds at Bear Ridge Golf Club.
Hutchinson shot rounds of 277 and 279 on Monday, one week after their record-setting performance at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The Blue Dragons lead Midland by 10 strokes after the Chaparrals shot 566 (290-276). McLennan is third at 575 (285-290).

The final round begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday with the Dragons paired with Midland, McLennan and Texas A&M-Victoria.
The Blue Dragons played the par-5 holes exceptionally well on Monday, shooting 10-under in the first round and eight-under in the second round on the par 5s.
Duquaine opened with a 69, posting one eagle, four birdies and 3 bogeys in the first round. He then shot a collegiate career-low 66 in the second round with an eagle, five birdies and just one bogey. Duquaine finished out the day with an eagle, birdie, birdie and par on his final four holes.
At nine-under 135, Duquaine leads the individual standings by two strokes.
Freshman Charlie Rusbridge is second individual at 7-under 137. Rusbridge shot a 6-under 66 with eight birdies and two bogeys in his first round. Rusbridge suffered a triple bogey on the fourth hole of his second round, but he rallied with five consecutive birdies and 6 birdies in 7 holes to get back to 3-under. Rusbridge finished with a 71.
Sophomore Grant Hatzenbueher is tied for ninth after two rounds. Hatzenbuehler carded back-to-back 71s on Monday and is at 2-under 142.
Freshman Harry Richmond had rounds of 71 and 72 and is at 1-under 143, which is tied for 11th.
Sophomore Matt Vearncombe is tied for 12th at even-par 144. Vearncombe had rounds of 73 and 71.
Blue Dragon individual player Grant Labuschagne is tied for ninth at 2-under 142. He had rounds of 71 and 71 on Monday.
