
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — With just a little more than a week until the election the number of advance votes cast in Reno County continues to climb. As of Friday morning more than 3,050 advance ballots had been cast.
The county sent out 8,776 mail out ballots earlier and people aren’t waiting to send them back. More than 4,800 of those ballots have been returned. Any mailed out ballot must be postmarked by election day or returned to the clerk's office no later than 7 p.m. November 3rd.
Advance voting hours will be extended at the county annex building on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and then Tuesday October 27 and Thursday October 29 the office will be open until 7 p.m.
County Elections Clerk Jenna Fager says the typical wait to vote in advance has been about five minutes.
