Dorothy M. Peak 94, died November 21, 2021 at Paramount Health and Rehab in Newton. She was born December 4, 1926 in Quenmo, Kansas to George A and Edith (Worley) McKinley. On April 9, 1944 she married Keith W. Peak at Eskridge, Kansas and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1991.
Dorothy was a long time active member of First United Methodist Church in downtown Newton.
She was retired as assistant director of food service for USD 373 in Newton.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Peggy Hinshaw and Judy Cornelius, she is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband a daughter Lucinda Marie and 5 brothers.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Newton with The Reverend Amos McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery Newton.
Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s memory to First United Methodist Church and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
