Public transit riders in Hutchinson and throughout Reno County will see a new, simplified fare structure when Ride RCAT's flat-rate pricing takes effect on July 1.
Under the updated rates, passengers using the fixed-route bus system will pay 50 cents per ride, per bus. Riders should note that exact fare is required and transfer tickets will no longer be available.

Demand Response service, which provides curb-to-curb transportation within the city limits of Hutchinson and South Hutchinson, will cost $2 per ride. County and rural trips outside the two cities but within Reno County will be $4 per ride. Exact fare is also required for those services.
Ride RCAT, the Reno County Area Transit system, remains open to the general public for any trip purpose and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Individuals with questions about paratransit services or application-based eligibility can contact the Ride RCAT Customer Service Center at 620-694-2913 for more information.
Transit officials say the updated fare structure is designed to make pricing straightforward while continuing to provide affordable transportation options for residents across Reno County.
