Roland Inslee, 69, of Medicine Lodge, KS, died Friday, August 5, 2022 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.


He was born on March 31, 1953 in Hardtner, the son of Charles Monroe Inslee and Josephine Catherine (Hrencher) Inslee. On July 6, 1987, he married Sherry (Fortune) Inslee in Medicine Lodge. She survives.

Roland was Catholic by faith and attended the First Baptist Church in Medicine Lodge. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Medicine Lodge Township and worked for National Gypsum prior to that. He had many hobbies: fishing, hunting, trapshooting, farming, ranching, and playing cards, specifically pitch and poker. Roland participated in the Peace Treaty Pageant and night show. He also participated in the demo derby at multiple county fairs. This year, he helped his oldest grandson, Trenton, build a car for his first demo derby. Roland was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Amateur Trapshooting Association, and Kansas Trapshooters Association.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Sherry Inslee of Medicine Lodge, are two daughters, Micah Inslee of Medicine Lodg, Brandi Inslee of Edwardsville; two sons, Josh Smart of Medicine Lodge, Brent (Morgan) Inslee of Goddard; four grandchildren, Trenton Smart, Trey Sanders, Brendon Inslee, and Greyson Inslee; three brothers, Larry (Robin) Inslee of Sharon, Tom (Patsy) Inslee of Medicine Lodge, and Steve (Connie) Inslee of Hutchinson, KS; three sisters, Yvonne (Paul) Harbaugh of Kiowa, Jolene Prestien of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, and Shirlene Shinliver of Nashville, KS; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
