HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Cancer Council of Reno County announced Ashley Thompson as its new Executive Director last week. Ashley brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role, having served as the Director of Patient Care since 2021.
In her previous role, Thompson demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the mission of the Cancer Council, advocating tirelessly for patients and their families. Her deep understanding of the organization's goals and challenges uniquely positions her to lead the Cancer Council into its next phase of growth and impact.
“Ashley’s passion and commitment for patient care in addition to her dedication to the day-to-day operations of the CCRC are more fully exemplified in this role,” said Suzanne Brown Mahoney, CCRC Board President. “She has been an integral part of growth in the organization.”
Ashley expressed her excitement about her new position, stating, "I am honored to take on this new challenge and continue working alongside the team and community partners to support those affected by cancer in Reno County. Together, we will strive to enhance our programs, expand our reach, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients."
As Executive Director, Ashley will oversee the Cancer Council's strategic initiatives, patient care, and be an active part of the community outreach programs. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the organization as it continues its mission to provide support, education, and resources to cancer patients and their families throughout Reno County.
