HUTCHINSON, Kan. — No. 5 Hutchinson (9-0, 3-0) quickly went up 12-2 barely 2:09 into the game Tuesday night.
Pratt (5-3, 1-2) settled in and took a lead into halftime.
The lead changed three times in the first half and the score was tied for 1:10.
The Beavers took a 52-47 lead into the break behind Harrison Eghan's 11 points.
Pratt held the rebounding advantage at half by seven.
Eghan would score just four in the second half to finish with 15.
Six Beavers scored in double digits, led by Nasan Ayala's 18. He added 12 rebounds.
Quintin Metcalf also had a double-double with 17 and 12.
Jacquez Yow added a double-double for Hutchinson with 16 points and 10 boards.
Angelo Stuart led all scorers with 25.
Hutchinson trailed by as many as eight with 19:40 left, but took the lead for good 3:30 later.
The Dragons never went back up by 10, the largest lead in the first half, but outscored Pratt by 12 in the second frame.

Pratt outrebounded Hutchinson 54-43.
Hutchinson made 12 triples to Pratt's three.
Hutchinson scored 38 points off turnovers, while Pratt had 68 in the paint.
