Linda Sue Shingleton, 66, passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2021 at the Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS.

She was born May 22, 1955 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Tilton and Alice (Hire) McCullough. She graduated Ponca City High School in 1973.

In 1972 she married her high-school sweetheart, Jim Shingleton. She soon became a loving mother and they moved to Kansas, eventually settling in Hutchinson.

Linda was a friend to all and loved to take care of her family for which her love was unconditional. Her physical and mental strength was extraordinary. She liked to use friendly sarcasm and loved teasing people. Her grandkids were her pride and joy and she loved to show off their pictures. Sadie, her beloved dog, was always by her side. She held a strong bond with her Lord and Savior and looked to him for comfort daily.

Survivors include: Husband, Jim Shingleton of Hutchinson, KS; Son, Brandon (Mandy) Shingleton, Hutchinson, KS; Daughter, Kristi Shingleton (Steven Delgado), South Hutchinson, KS; Grandchildren, Alayna Raya and Alex Raya, both of Lawrence, KS; Ezekiel Delgado, South Hutchinson, KS; Skylar Shingleton and Clayton Shingleton, both of Hutchinson, KS; Step Grandchildren, Ava Powell and Van Dean, also of Hutchinson, KS; Siblings, Ted McCullough, Ardmore, OK and Rosemary Mullin, Montgomery, AL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister in law, JoAnn Larkey.

A celebration of life will be held at Dillon Nature Center in Hutchinson on Saturday, October 23rd at 3pm. Cremation has already taken place.
