Man dies after pickup lands on train tracks under I-135

HARVEY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 9 p.m. Sunday in Harvey County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 GMC Sierra driven by  James M Rundzieher, 21, Rayville, Louisiana, was southbound on Interstate 135 one half mile south of First Street in Newton.

The pickup left the roadway, crashed through the guardrail, vaulted and  landed on the train tracks under the Interstate.

Rundzieher was pronounced dead a that scene and was transported to the Sedgwick County Forensics Center.  The KHP did not have seat belt usage details.
