David Van Asselt, 76, of Hutchinson, passed away in his home, Friday, April 1, 2022. He was born January 7, 1946, in Zeeland, Michigan and graduated from Grand Haven High School. David moved to Hutchinson with his family in 1979.
David was co-owner and head salesman for Lea J. Alan Enterprises, Inc. in Newton. He was an avid golfer, die-hard Michigan Wolverines fan, and loved his home and family.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda, Hutchinson; five daughters, Kimberly McClain (Steve), Statham, GA; Bobbi Van Asselt Strayer, Lawrence; Stephanie Dawes (Craig), Buhler; Susanne Krishna (Mohan), Bellevue, NE; Abigail Bynum (Darrell), Powder Springs, GA; brothers, Walter (Jan), Gladstone, MO; Karl (Margaret), Durham, NH; grandchildren, Zachary, Zeke, Seth, Jacob, Logan, Dylan, Kevin, Mallory, Cameron, Cullen, Maverick, Mackenzie; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Walter and Alyda; daughter, Stacy; and grandchild, Remington.
David attended Union Valley Bible Church and was an animal lover. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Union Valley Bible Church Missionary Fund, and/or the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, 67501.
A private celebration of life and inurnment will take place at later date.
