👟 Sterling native advances to finals for men's high jump in U.S. Olympic Team Trials

EUGENE, Ore. — Sterling native Tyus Wilson has advanced to the finals for the men's high jump at the U.S. Olympic Team Trial.

The former Sterling Black Bear placed 5th in the semifinals by clearing 7 feet 0.25 inches. 

Wilson is one of two Kansans to advance to the finals, as Devin Loudermilk from Howard placed 11th. The top 12 finishers in the semifinals advance to the finals.

Wilson is a 2021 graduate of Sterling High School and has competed for the University of Nebraska the past three seasons.

The final for the high jump event will take place on Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. CDT from Hayward Field.
