BUHLER, Kan. — Reno County officially agreed to award a contract to King Construction Inc., and they have committed county funds in the amount of $3,000.00 for non participating bid items connected with the construction of Victory Rd Bridge 27.01 over the Little Arkansas River, located 0.5 Miles East and 2.0 Miles South of the City of Buhler.
That action was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on Wednesday.
That bridge was awarded Off System Bridge funding of $820,000 in December 2022. The low bid came in at $738,951.
The bridge was built in 1962. Two major floods have caused the bridge deck to loosen from the piling supporting the bridge.
The motion passed unanimously.
