The Hutchinson Community College football team is just one of two remaining defeated teams in NJCAA Division I Football.

Following a 48-7 victory at Independence on Saturday, the Blue Dragons maintained the top spot in the NJCAA national rankings for the sixth-straight week.

The next two weeks will be challenging for the Blue Dragons with back-to-back nationally ranked opponents. Hutchinson (6-0) travels to No. 12 Coffeyville (4-2) at 1 p.m. on Saturday and then return to Gowans Stadium on October 26 to meet No. 13 Butler.

The Dragons are 3-0 against ranked opponents this season.

This is the 41st consecutive poll the Dragons have been ranked, which is the second-longest run in the rankings in program history. The Blue Dragon record for consecutive weeks ranked in the polls is 45, which was set from 2010 to 2013.

This is the sixth time the Blue Dragons have been ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA polls in program history. The Dragons have been ranked No. 1 in 35 of the past 61 polls and have been ranked in the nation’s Top 3 for 36 consecutive polls.

Hutchinson and Iowa Western stayed at Nos. 1 and 2 in this week’s rankings. Former No. 3 Mississippi Gulf Coast lost last week and fell to No. 7. Georgia Military is now No. 3, Snow is No. 4 and Garden City jumps into the Top 5 at No. 5.

Holmes Community College is the other unbeaten team in the nation and is No. 6.

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico — The No. 2-ranked Hutchinson Community College men’s golf team had a strong rebound round Monday afternoon with a 4-under-par 284 and is now sixth after 36 holes of the Herb Wimberly Memorial Invitational at New Mexico State University.

The Blue Dragons shot a 5-over par 293 in Monday’s opening round, but trimmed nine strokes off that mark in the afternoon round to shoot a 36-hole total of 577.

The Dragons trail tournament leader New Mexico State by 28 strokes after the Aggies shot rounds of 273 and 276 and are 19-under par at 549.

NJCAA No. 1-ranked Midland is second at 561 (280-281). No. 3 Odessa is fourth at 573 (288-285). KJCCC rival Garden City is eighth after two rounds at 583 (291-292).

Sophomore Charlie Box was the low Blue Dragon golfer in the opening round  at 1-under 71. The Dragons also counted scores from Jack Northgraves (73), Jaydon Carruthers (74) and Louis Ross (75).

Northgraves led the afternoon charge for the Dragons with a 2-under 70. Box and Ross both carded 71s and Carruthers shot even-par 72 in the afternoon round.

Individually, Box is tied for 15th at 2-under 142 (71-71). Northgraves is tied for 19th at 143 (73-70). Carruthers (74-72) and Ross (75-71) are tied for 38th at 146.

Sophomore David Razinskas is tied for 64th at 151 after Monday rounds of 75 and 76.

The final round begins at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at University Golf Course in Las Cruces.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Holding its first opponent to a sub-.100 attack percentage since September 25, the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team held Garden City to .021 hitting and earned a much-needed victory with a sweep of the Broncbusters on Monday at the Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons snapped a seven-match losing streak with a 29-27, 25-22, 25-19 victory over Garden City, which evened the season series with the Busters at 1-1.

The Dragons (13-17, 4-5 KJCCC) are off on Wednesday and travel to Cloud County for a 3 p.m. match on Saturday in Concordia. Garden City fell to 10-9 overall and 4-5 in the KJCCC.

Hutchinson was led by freshman Atlyn Proctor who had 13 kills, hitting .189 on 37 attacks.

Right-side hitter Tiana Simmons had nine kills and hit .200 on 20 swings. Simmons just missed a double-double with a season-high 12 digs and two blocks.

Sophomore middle McKenzie Murphy hit .278 with seen kills on 18 attacks. Murphy had five total blocks, including one solo block.

Freshman Kierny Follmer came off the bench to add seven kills and three blocks. Sophomore Precious Johnson had five kills and two blocks.

The Blue Dragons hit .139 as a team, out-blocked Garden City 7-6 and out-dug the Busters 76-63. The Dragons had six service aces.

Sophomore setter Shelbi Wilson had 36 assists and five digs.

Freshman libero Addy Foster finished with 20 digs. Freshman Ellie Suber had a season-high 15 digs with two aces. Bea Carvalho had a season-high 13 digs with three service aces.

Julia Brazil had 10 kills to lead Garden City.

SET 1: The first set was a back-and-forth battle with 14 ties and seven lead changes and went to extra points. The Dragons had to overcome an early deficits of 6-2 and 10-5. The Dragons finally tied the set at 12-12 after a Wilson ace serve and took its first lead on a Follmer/Murphy double block for a 17-16 lead. Trailing 23-22, the Dragons got a Buster attack error and Murphy kill to take a 24-23 lead. The Dragons couldn’t convert on their first two set points and then trailed 26-25. The Dragons took a 27-26 lead on a Buster attack error and Carvalho service ace. The set was tied at 27. Proctor had a kill, her third of the set for a 28-27 lead. The Dragons closed out the set on a Garden attack error for a 29-27 victory.

SET 2: A Simmons kill gave the Blue Dragons a 10-6 lead, but Garden City reeled off five consecutive points for an 11-10 lead. The Dragons answered with a 5-0 run of their own and took a 15-11 lead after a Carvalho ace. A Suber ace gave the Dragons a 19-15 lead. Then a solo Murphy block upped the Dragon lead to 23-18. Garden scored four unanswered points to pull with 23-22. After a Dragon timeout, they closed out the set with a Proctor kill and Buster attack error. The Dragon defense held Garden City to .000 hitting in the second set.

🏐 Dragons earn home sweep of Busters

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson high school girls golf team placed second in the 5A regional tournament at Carey Park Golf course in Hutchinson Monday. 

Hays placed first shooting at 365 and Hutchinson was second shooting a 390.

Ava Burlie was the top finisher for the Salthawks placing sixth and Lily Rodriguez finished ninth. 

The 5A state tournament will be at Salina's Municipal Golf Course next week.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The famous couple sat together in a suite down the right-field line. Kelce went to high school in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. It was the second major sporting event they've attended in New York City over the past five-plus weeks. The couple also sat in a box to watch the men's final at the U.S. Open tennis tournament on Sept. 8 in Queens.

Man United great Alex Ferguson to step down as club ambassador in latest change under Jim Ratcliffe

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester United great Alex Ferguson will step down from his role as club ambassador at the end of the season, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the move has not been publicly announced. Ferguson will be 83 in December and the person said the ending of his ambassadorship was "amicable" and he would "always be welcome at Old Trafford." Ferguson won 13 Premier League titles with United and seen as one of the finest managers in soccer. He is United's most successful manager, having won 28 major trophies. He has been a club ambassador since retiring after leading United to its last league title in 2013.

Kansas tops AP Top 25 preseason men's basketball poll ahead of Alabama, defending champion UConn

Kansas is No. 1 in the AP Top 25 preseason men's basketball poll ahead of Alabama and two-time defending national champion UConn. The Jayhawks got 30 of 60 first-place votes while the Crimson Tide received 14 and the Huskies got 11. Houston and Iowa State round out the top five, followed by Gonzaga, Duke, Baylor, North Carolina and Arizona. The Big 12 has half of the top 10 teams but the SEC has the most in the Top 25 overall with nine. That includes No. 16 Arkansas, led by new coach John Calipari, and No. 23 Kentucky, where Mark Pope replaced him.

76ers' free agent pickup Paul George leaves preseason win with hyperextended left knee

ATLANTA (AP) — Philadelphia 76ers prized free agent acquisition Paul George left Monday's preseason game against Atlanta with a hyperextended left knee. There was no immediate update how much time George might miss following his injury. A nine-time All-Star, George's knee buckled on a defensive play in the second quarter. He scored eight points in 12 minutes in a 104-89 victory. The Sixers have been cautious with their star players and shut down All-Center Joel Embiid on Sunday for the rest of the preseason for what the team called left knee management.

Weekend full of injuries in college football leaves plenty of playoff contenders scrambling

Plenty of playoff contenders suddenly find themselves dealing with major injuries to notable players as the college football season reaches its halfway point. Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison, Tennessee linebacker Keenan Pili and Texas defensive back Derrick Williams are out for the rest of the season. Ohio State left tackle Josh Simmons also has an injury that could end his season. All went down as part of a brutal weekend that included Florida quarterback Graham Mertz and Colorado State receiver Tory Horton undergoing season-ending injuries and Utah quarterback Cam Rising suffering a lower leg injury that has him out for the rest of the season.

Too many men: No. 2 Oregon purposely induced late penalty in win over No. 4 Ohio State

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — No. 2 Oregon had 12 men on the field late in its 32-31 win over No. 4 Ohio State, with the resulting penalty causing precious seconds to wind off the clock. Turns out, it was on purpose. Oregon coach Dan Lanning confirmed the Ducks purposely put 12 men on the field following a timeout, resulting in an illegal substitution penalty. Because it was a live-ball penalty, Ohio State lost four seconds off the clock down to six. Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard scrambled up the middle on the ensuing play, sliding a second too late for Ohio State to call a timeout for a potential game-winning field goal at Oregon's 26.

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh wearing heart monitor, taking blood thinner after irregular heartbeat

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — Leave it to Jim Harbaugh to call an audible when addressing his health. The Los Angeles Chargers coach wasn't supposed to do his Monday news conference because he was undergoing medical testing after he experienced an irregular heartbeat during Sunday's 23-16 win at Denver. Harbaugh, though, got back from his appointment with a cardiologist earlier than planned. He spoke to reporters and said he is taking steps to address the arrhythmia he has had for many years. That includes wearing a heart monitor for the next two weeks and taking a blood thinner so his heart doesn't go out of rhythm.

The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that the game time and TV designation for the Dillons Sunflower Showdown between Kansas and Kansas State on Oct. 26 will be announced either this Saturday or Sunday.

There are only two games on the schedule for Oct. 26 in the conference that have game times and TV assignments, while five games, including the KU and K-State game are still to be determined.

🏈 Dillons Sunflower Showdown time, TV designation to be announced this weekend

Kansas was picked first in&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-basketball-poll">the AP Top 25 preseason men’s basketball poll</a>&nbsp;Monday, getting the No. 1 nod on half of the 60 ballots from a national media panel to start the season ahead of Alabama and&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/video/mens-college-basketball-dan-hurley-connecticut-huskies-los-angeles-lakers-national-98d96d5729ff40aeb71f472991b07a4b">two-time defending national champion UConn</a>.

Kansas scooped up 30 first-place votes from the AP panel. The Crimson Tide, led by All-American guard Mark Sears and Jarin Stevenson, earned 14 first-place votes and UConn, which is trying to become the first school since&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/ap-top-25-kentucky-duke-unlv-carolina-d62e3f34683ee1177fbd58503de93c43">John Wooden’s teams at UCLA</a>&nbsp;to win three straight titles, received 11 first-place votes and is third.

Houston earned four first-place votes and is fourth ahead of Iowa State, which returns its top four scorers from a team that was a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Gonzaga received one first-place vote and is the sixth.

Duke,&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/cooper-flagg-usa-basketball-9ec122d7302ae3849d7868688cb21024">led by consensus No. 1 recruit Cooper Flagg</a>, is seventh ahead of Baylor, North Carolina and Arizona in the top 10.

The Jayhawks were preseason No. 1 a year ago, too, but the season hardly went as planned. They were dragged down by injuries and struggled in Big 12 play, and a team led by All-American center Hunter Dickinson ultimately was&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/cincinnati-kansas-big-12-tournament-score-96270c4ca82dd48e4bd1ef647ed08f9a">routed by Cincinnati</a>&nbsp;in the conference tournament and&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/march-madness-gonzaga-kansas-score-a2be8748062ebe44c91db46d782c9432">Gonzaga in the second round of the NCAA Tournament</a>.

Kansas coach&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/kansas-jayhawks-mens-basketball-kansas-nba-march-madness-mens-college-basketball-3d6a952411b766f0627842734242cf7c">Bill Self retooled</a>&nbsp;in the offseason, landing one of the nation’s top transfer classes. A.J. Storr of Wisconsin, South Dakota State guard Zeke Mayo and Rylan Griffen from Alabama are part of a versatile bunch joining Dickinson and fellow seniors Dajuan Harris Jr. and KJ Adams Jr. — both part of their 2022 national title squad — to form a deeper and more talented team.

“We welcome being No. 1, especially with our returning players like Hunter, Dajuan and KJ, and then you add the players we brought in,” Self said. “The goal is to be No. 1 at the end of the season, and though we welcome this, it is not the end goal.”

<a href="https://apnews.com/article/ucla-arizona-basketball-series-358d5e05147001546b771bdcc97e9aac">The new-look Big 12</a>, which lost Oklahoma and Texas but welcomed Arizona, Arizona State, Utah and Colorado, has three of the top five and five of the top 10 in the preseason AP poll. The SEC leads the way with nine in the Top 25.

“To have three Big 12 teams in the top five and five in the top 10 just shows how competitive this league will be,” Self said. “Every year we talk about the Big 12 being the toughest conference in the nation and with the four additions it became even stronger.”

No. 11 Auburn, Tennessee and Texas A&amp;M start off the second 10, followed by Purdue and Creighton. John Calipari has Arkansas at No. 16 with Indiana, Marquette, Texas and Cincinnati — making its first poll appearance since 2019 — in the top 20.

The Boilermakers are trying to win a third straight Big Ten title after the departure of&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/nba-draft-zach-edey-6a7f3184d13c40b76bf9b41b45d1aa31">AP player of the year Zach Edey</a>.

“We have three starters back from a Final Four team. We have five freshmen. We have a lot of guys with experience outside of those three starters,” Purdue coach Matt Painter said. “We’re excited about it. We’re excited about this group.”

Florida, UCLA, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Rutgers round out the preseason Top 25.

“I’m excited about the expectations,” said Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell, whose team is ranked in the preseason poll for the first time since 1978. “We always had high expectations, and now in a league with 18 teams, you know, people are saying, ‘How good are you? There’s 18 teams. They’re great coaches.’ I don’t know where we sit. If you came to our practice yesterday, you would say, ‘Oh, boy.’ And if you came a couple of days earlier, you might think, ‘Hey, they’re going to be pretty good.’”

Illinois is tops among others receiving votes after reaching the Elite Eight. Rick Pitino has St. John’s on the doorstep along with Xavier, Texas Tech and Wake Forest. The first regular-season poll is due out Nov. 11.

Four schools that have never appeared in the Top 25 received preseason votes, led by McNeese State, which went back to the NCAA Tournament last season. Little Rock, Grand Canyon and High Point also received votes.

Detroit lost pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson to an injury to his left tibia that will require surgery. Dak Prescott threw two interceptions in the worst home loss since 1988 for the Cowboys. Dallas is 0-3 at home and 3-0 on the road.

NEW YORK (AP) — Breanna Stewart scored 21 points and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton added 20 to help the New York Liberty beat the Minnesota Lynx 80-66 on Sunday in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals. The win evened the series 1-1 as it shifts to Minnesota for Game 3 on Wednesday night. Just like Game 1, New York built a double-digit lead in the first half, only to see it evaporate. This time they didn't completely collapse. Minnesota was down nine early in the fourth before getting within 68-66 on Courtney Williams' layup with 3:40 left in the game. Those were the last points Minnesota would score.

Larson dominates at The Roval to lead 3 Hendrick cars into next round of NASCAR playoffs

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — Kyle Larson raced to his Cup Series-high sixth victory of the season Sunday to easily advance to the third round of NASCAR's playoffs, winning on the hybrid road course/oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Larson led a race-high 62 laps in the No. 5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, beating Christopher Bell by 1.511 seconds. It was Larson's second victory of the playoffs, but he's the first championship-eligible driver to win in the round of 12. The playoff field was cut from 12 drivers to eight, and among those knocked out were Hendrick driver Alex Bowman for failing post-race inspection, Team Penske driver Austin Cindric, Daniel Suarez of Trackhouse Racing and Chase Briscoe of Stewart-Haas Racing. Three of the four Hendrick drivers advanced.

Matt McCarty goes from Korn Ferry to the Masters after winning in Utah for first PGA Tour title

IVINS, Utah (AP) — Matt McCarty started the year on the Korn Ferry Tour. Now he's going to the Masters and two other majors. His dream season hit a peak when McCarty won the Black Desert Championship by three shots over Stephan Jaeger. The victory comes with an invitation to the Masters and a spot in the PGA Championship. He already was in the U.S. Open from leading the Korn Ferry Tour points list. The biggest shot in his closing 67 was when his lead was down to one shot. McCarty hit 3-wood to about 3 feet for eagle on the reachable par-4 14th.

Oregon and Penn State each moved up a spot in&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll">The Associated Press college football poll</a>&nbsp;on Sunday following thrilling wins in high-profile games, and Top 25 newcomers&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/army-navy-undefeated-football-bbb0b86caa8ae81aa8f7ca8d3d0b3ed7">Navy and Army</a>&nbsp;are in the rankings together for the first time since 1960.

Texas strengthened its hold on No. 1 with its&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/texas-oklahoma-college-football-score-ewers-fdde647e2a9dd15a1a768d244301bad2">31-point victory over Oklahoma.</a>&nbsp;The Longhorns received 56 of 62 first-place votes, four more than last week and their most since they were a unanimous No. 1 in October 2008.

This weekend wasn’t as crazy as the week before, when&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/college-football-poll-upset-vanderbilt-alabama-51130c6ccebf2dd35c62988a3bfcd653">four of the top 11 teams were upset</a>&nbsp;and only two teams held their spots in the ensuing rankings shuffle.

That’s not to say Week 7 was devoid of excitement.

<a href="https://apnews.com/article/ohio-state-oregon-score-68fb7b786ae40ca2630bb3bafd68830d">Oregon’s 32-31 home win over Ohio State</a>&nbsp;featured seven lead changes and moved the Ducks to No. 2 with the other six first-place votes. It’s their highest ranking since they ended the 2014 season at No. 2 after losing to the Buckeyes in the inaugural College Football Playoff championship game.

Penn State rose to No. 3 with a&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/usc-penn-state-score-fa8d60806cd32f0292ee66e37e4251f5">33-30 overtime win at Southern California</a>, the Nittany Lions’ highest ranking in seven years.

Penn State-USC was one of four games involving AP Top 25 teams that went to OT on Saturday, including three in the top 10.

Ohio State dropped two spots to No. 4 and Georgia remained No. 5. Miami, Alabama, LSU, Iowa State and Clemson rounded out the top 10.

Army, which&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/uab-army-5a4f779ae86aabbec5eae8ffacc253a6">beat UAB 44-10</a>, and Navy, which was idle, broke through for their first simultaneous rankings since Oct. 3, 1960.

Their coinciding appearance that season lasted just one week. Army was 3-0 and ranked No. 18 before dropping two straight games and finishing 6-3-1. Navy had entered the rankings a week earlier, at No. 17, and ended the season 9-2 and ranked No. 4.

Army (6-0) and Navy (5-0) have not each been unbeaten at this point in a season since 1945, weeks after World War II ended and in the era when service academies were powerhouses of the sport.

LSU and Mississippi were the biggest movers in the wake of the&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/ole-miss-lsu-score-a47718f287c8544cdf6918a889e782bd">Tigers’ 29-26 overtime win.</a>&nbsp;The Tigers went from No. 13 to No. 8, their first top-10 appearance since they were No. 5 in the 2023 preseason poll. Mississippi, which lost for the second time in three games, dropped from No. 9 all the way to No. 18.

<a href="https://apnews.com/article/iowa-state-cyclones-college-football-7afd61342f15125ea038f12ef9cffff8">No. 9 Iowa State</a>, 6-0 for the first time since 1938, has its highest ranking since September 2021.

Tennessee had been in the top 10 in four straight polls before slipping to No. 11 following its&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/tennessee-florida-score-b96f51f07d2c2f44411dba2e92440436">23-17 overtime win over Florida.</a>

The Southeastern Conference holds down eight spots in the AP Top 25. The Big Ten continues to have three teams in the top five — Oregon, Penn State and Ohio State — and six in the Top 25.

Army and Navy are the only teams making their season debuts in the poll.

Utah, which has lost two straight, dropped out following its&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/arizona-state-utah-score-skattebo-f0f3018c5a35437f5dba919d46bc15eb">27-19 loss at Arizona State</a>.

Oklahoma, which had been No. 18 before its loss to Texas, is out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since the end of the 2022 season.

🏈 K-State moves up one spot in latest AP Top 25

WINFIELD – The Hutchinson Community College men's cross country team joined the women's team in the re-write of the Blue Dragon record books on Saturday.

Both&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mxc/2024-25/bios/kiprotich_titus_3hog">Titus Kiprotich</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mxc/2024-25/bios/kogo_cornelius_c2m2">Cornelius Kogo</a>&nbsp;broke the Blue Dragon men's 8,000-meter record to lead the No. 5-ranked Hutchinson men to a third-place finish at the Region 6 Preview at the Kansas Veterans Home, the site of the 2024 Region 6 Championships in two weeks.

Both Kiprotich and Kogo finished in the Top 10 to lead the Dragons, who scored 56 points with an average time of 24:53.73.

👟 Kiprotich, Kogo break Blue Dragon 8K record at Region VI preview

WINFIELD – It took 40 seasons before a Hutchinson Community College women's cross country runner broke the 18-minute barrier. It only took one meet for a Blue Dragon runner to go sub-17 minutes.

Freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wxc/2024-25/bios/jepchirchir_faith_mtt9">Faith Jepchirchir</a>&nbsp;made it 3 for 3 this season, winning her third meet, the second in school-record fashion to lead the No. 6-ranked Blue Dragon women at the Region 6 Preview at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

The Blue Dragons did not post a team score on Saturday with only three runners competing. No. 4-ranked Crowder College won the women's team title with 23 points. Eighth-ranked Butler was second with 50 points on the same course where the 2024 Region 6 Cross Country Championships will be contested in two weeks.

Jepchirchir broke her own 5K school record by 12.34 second on Saturday, winning the preview with a time of 16:55.33. Jepchirchir first broke the Blue Dragons' 5,000-meter record two weeks ago at the Chili Pepper Festival with a time of 17:08.1. On that day, Lilian Mateo Torrez also broke the 18-minute mark.

Jepchirchir also became the first Blue Dragon to win three events in the same season in program history.

Sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wxc/2024-25/bios/grantham_abigail_42dd">Abigail Grantham</a>&nbsp;became the 41st Blue Dragon runner to break into the sub-20-minute club with a career-best time of 19:35.16. Grantham finished 13th for her career-best placing at 5,000 meters.

Sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wxc/2024-25/bios/avila_laura_xx0p">Laura Avila</a>&nbsp;had a season-best time of 19:53.06, her third career sub-20-minute time.

👟 Jepchirchir smashes Dragons' 5K record again

COFFEYVILLE – Forward&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wsoc/2024-25/bios/rogers_haley_tzll">Haley Rogers</a>&nbsp;posted her third multi-goal game of the season while forward&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wsoc/2024-25/bios/marx_katharina_gwqa">Katharina Marx</a>&nbsp;tied a career single-game high for assists to power the No. 16-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team to a shutout victory over the Coffeyville Red Ravens.

The Blue Dragons registered their third-straight shutout after a 3-0 victory over Coffeyville at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Now 4-0-1 in their last five games, the Blue Dragons improved to 8-2-4 overall and 7-2-4 (25 points) in the Jayhawk Conference. Hutchinson plays host to Barton at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Salthawk Sports Complex. Coffeyville is now 1-10-3 and 0-9-3 in the KJCCC.

Rogers had two goals on five shots taken, scoring in the sixth and 15th minute to give the Blue Dragons a 2-0 lead. Now with team highs of 11 goals and 28 points for the season, Rogers earned her third game-winning goal.

Sophomore midfielder&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wsoc/2024-25/bios/edwards_kaitlyn_flm0">Kaitlyn Edwards</a>&nbsp;had the other goal for the Blue Dragons. Snapping a six-game streak without a goal, Edwards' eighth goal of the season came in the 61st minute to give Hutchinson a 3-0 lead.

Marx tied her single-game career high for assists with three against the Red Ravens. That matched the three assists she had in her collegiate debut last season against Northeastern Junior College on August 20, 2023.

This was the 59th time a Blue Dragon player had at least three assists in a game in program history and Marx became the 16th Blue Dragon player in reach 20 career assists. She also has a career season high 11 assists this season.
