HUTCHINSON, Kan. — There was a fire in the attic and on the back side of the house at 1717 North Adams Friday night, but everyone inside got out safely.
Hutchinson firefighters got to the house just after 10:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the north side of the house and from the eaves.
Some firefighters put out the flames, while others cut a hole in the roof to vent out heat and prevent additional ignition. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
