WICHITA —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an accidental shooting at the Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita.

Just after 9 p.m. Friday, police responded to a shooting call at the museum in the 1800 block of West Museum Boulevard, according to Officer Kevin Wheeler.

At the scene, first responders located a 24-year-old man who had injuries to his upper body.  EMS transported him to a local hospital, where he remains with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to Wheeler.

The investigation revealed that the 24-year-old was participating in a live demonstration where reenactors were supposed to use blank rounds when he was shot.

There were no other injuries.  This incident is believed to be accidental, according to Wheeler.
