HAVEN, Kan. — The Haven USD 312 School Board gave approval to hiring a contractor for a major renovation project at the high school.
After interviewing three potential clients, the board selected Weins and Company as the contractor and Construction Management at Risk provider for the high school auditorium project.
The plans are to renovate the auditorium seats, lighting, and sound system for the auditorium along with an overall face lift. The cost is estimated at $300,000. If all goes as planned work would begin this summer.
Also Monday, the board approved the calendar for the 2021-22 school year. As approved the year would begin August 18. The students would get three days off at Thanksgiving and then two weeks at Christmas starting December 17 and running through January 4.
Spring break would run March 14 through 18 and students would be dismissed for the summer May 18, 2022.
