HAVEN, Kan. — Haven Mayor Adam Wright let citizens know Wednesday that the City Office will be closed to the public until after Thanksgiving, due to a recent COVID-19 case within the City building.
"The City of Haven greatly values its citizens and employees and takes their health and safety seriously," Wright said. "This temporary change is implemented to provide maximum health and safety for the City’s employees and citizens alike in the best interest of our community."
Office staff will work from home with full abilities to answer customer inquiries over the phone at (620) 465-3618, through email at [email protected] or [email protected] and via Facebook Messenger. Payments for court fines, utility bills, dog tags, etc. may be placed through the slot on the door of 120 S. Kansas Avenue or made via telephone or Internet.
Building permit applications will be facilitated through mail, fax, or email. Those needing an inspection should schedule directly with the Building Inspector, Charles Arndt, at (316) 680-9566. All other City operations will operate normally, including the burn site.
As of now, the plan is to reopen the office on Monday, Nov. 29.
