VICTORIA – Freshman Collin Oswalt and sophomores Andrew Holt and Aaron Geissinger all posted personal best times to lead the Hutchinson Community College men’s cross country team on Saturday at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open at the Sand Plum Nature Course.
Oswalt was the Blue Dragons’ top finisher for the fourth-straight race this season. The freshman finished 15th in the Black Race’s 196-runner field. The Black race consisted off junior college and NAIA runners.
Oswalt posted a season-best best 8,000-meter time of 25 minutes, 15.98 seconds.
Holt, a third-year sophomore, had his second career PR of the season with a time of 26:05.66.
Geissinger, a sophomore, posted his third-straight PR with a time of 27:42.33. Geissinger finished 72nd.
The only Blue Dragon not to run a PR was freshman Camilo Tarin, who finished 59th in a time of 27:24.48
The Blue Dragons had only four runners in the race and weren’t able to post a team score.
Cloud County won the Black Division with 95 points. Colby was second at 107. Northwest Tech’s Vincent Nchogu was the individual winner with a time of 23:35.87.
Next up for the Blue Dragons will be the Region VI Championships on October 30 in Colby.
