Officials report 6 cases of rabies in one Kansas county

GREENWOOD COUNTY—Authorities are reporting six cases of rabies near Eureka, Kansas, according to Greenwood County Health Officer Vicki Lindsey-Ross.

"Being observant of erratic behavior in wildlife or livestock is important," she said in a media release. "Pet owners are encourage to follow best practices and vaccinate their animals to prevent the disease"

"Rabies is a fatal disease that can be transmitted animals to people and is often transmitted from the bite of an infected animal."
