HUTCHINSON, Kan.—The Garden City Buffaloes took the opening kickoff and drove 74 yards for a touchdown, then made that score stand until their 1 yard plunge in OT to steal one away from the Hutchinson Salthawks 13-7 in Gowans Stadium on Friday night.
The Salthawks did connect on a 51 yard pass from Noah Khokhar to Malaki Miller to tie the game up with 1:43 to go in the 3rd quarter.
Hutchinson had the first possession of the overtime but missed on a Taysen Runyon 36 yard field goal before Garden City scored on their possession.
Hutchinson will now travel to Maize South on Friday to take on the Mavericks.
