🏀 Both Blue Dragon teams move up in NJCAA rankings

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its latest basketball rankings on Monday afternoon, and both HutchCC teams moved up in their respective poll.

The Hutchinson women (8-0, 2-0 KJCCC) moved up one spot to No. 14 in the Top 25 poll after going 2-0 since the last poll was released a week ago. 

The Blue Dragons defeated NOC-Tonkawa, 80-54 last Tuesday and then beat Colby, 86-46 on Sunday afternoon. Hutchinson will travel to Independence (5-3, 0-3) on Wednesday evening for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff against the Pirates.

The Hutchinson men (7-1, 2-0 KJCCC) also moved up a spot to No. 21 in the latest poll. The Blue Dragons were perfect in the last week, as well, going 2-0.

The Blue Dragons beat Labette, 103-54 and Colby, 92-81 in the one-week span since the last poll. Hutchinson will make the trek to Independence on Wednesday to play Independence (1-8, 0-3 KJCCC) at 7:30 p.m.

Both Blue Dragon games at Independence on Wednesday can be heard on Country 102.9-FM and 1450/98.5 KWBW-AM/FM with pregame coverage starting at 5:15 p.m. from the FirstOak Bank & Oakes Family Field House.
