Monarchs win with walk-off Grand Slam in the 7th

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Hutchinson Monarchs (10-3) bats were hot from the start Thursday night as the Monarchs run ruled the Rose Hill Sluggers 14-1 in 7 innings.

The big blast was a grand slam homer by Drew Reetz for the walk-off win in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Hutchinson got it going early with 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning with big hits by Dylan Nedved and  Drew Reetz.

Rose Hill wild pitches in the bottom of the 4th allowed the Monarchs to take a 8-1 lead.  Hutchinson added more runs in the 5th and 6th innings to lead 10-1 before Drew Reetz finished off the sluggers with his 2 out 7th inning Grand Slam.

Jake Hamilton earned the win by giving up only 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings of work.

Next action for the Monarchs will be tonight at home as Hutchinson will try to get a win to split the series with the Sluggers.  Tonight's game will be streamed on Hutchpost.com with the first pitch at 7 pm.
