DODGE CITY, Kan. — Hutchinson's girls hung with Dodge City for about a half on Wednesday night, but one sequence right before the break changed the tone of the game.
Hutchinson was down just five with the basketball with less than a minute to play in the first half, then were unable to score and the Lady Demons answered back with a buzzer-beating three from senior Kisa Unruh to go up eight at the half 23-15 and Hutchinson never really got close after that.
Kisa Unruh led Dodge City with 21 points, Camree Johnson added 12. Ziya Simms had 11 points in her final action in a Salthawk uniform.
Hutchinson committed 20 turnovers to just 9 for the Lady Demons.
The Salthawk girls end their season at 8-12. Dodge City improves to 19-1.
