Newton street closed for bridge painting starting Wednesday

NEWTON, Kan. — A portion of SW 24th Street will be closed for a few weeks beginning Wednesday, Oct. 2, for painting of the bridge over Sand Creek.

SW 24th Street will be closed to all traffic between South Anderson and Cow Palace Road.

Visitors to the Harvey County Solid Waste Transfer Station will need to take U.S. 50 to Cow Palace.

The work is expected to be completed by mid-November, weather permitting.

King Construction is the prime contractor for the project. Lindner Painting Inc. is the subcontractor.
