HutchCC Board sets mill levy, approves Master Agreement

Hutchinson, Kan. –The Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees took action on several items during its July meeting.

The Board authorized the administration to notify the county clerk that its maximum mill levy will be 21.829, the same as the year prior. This mill levy, when set before last year, was less than any year since 2012. Work proceeds on its 2022-23 statutory budget.

The Board also approved the Master Agreement with the Hutchinson National Faculty Association for the 2022-23 year. The agreement includes a 5% increase on base salary and $30 per month increase for Board Benefits. A salary increase for classified and administrative staff based on performance, market value and scope of responsibility, with the average increase not to exceed 5% and a $30 per month increase in the Board Benefit, was also approved for classified and administrative staff.

In addition, the board received an update on its strategic planning initiatives, approved payment of College bills, approved the academic catalog for the 2022-23 school year and renewed the College’s athletic insurance policy.

The next meeting of the board will be on Thursday, August 11. The meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Shears Technology Center Justice Theater. The public is invited to attend.
