WICHITA — The Wichita Wind Surge are one win away from clinching a playoff spot after a split with Arkansas on Wednesday at Riverfront Stadium.
The Travelers finished off game one that was started on Tuesday with a 10-5 win, but the Surge came back in the nightcap with a 6-4 triumph.
Game three of the series against the Arkansas Travelers is Thursday. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
Right now, Wichita has the best record among AA Central teams in either division, so if they can hold their lead, they would visit the second seed next Tuesday and Wednesday before coming back home on Friday.
Arkansas is in a battle with Frisco and NW Arkansas for that other playoff spot. Right now, the Travelers are a half-game up on the other two. Tulsa is also in contention just one game back of Arkansas.
