The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team moved up one more spot in the latest NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball national rankings released on Monday.
Last week was a wild one for the 3-0 Blue Dragons. Hutchinson pulled off the biggest comeback in the John Ontjes era rallying from 21 points down in the second half to defeat Coffeyville 70-63. The Dragons then routed Neosho County 100-58 on Saturday.
The Blue Dragons continued to be the highest ranked Jayhawk Conference team in the rankings. Butler joined Hutchinson in the Top 25 this week. The Blue Dragons and Grizzlies will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Power Plant in El Dorado. Hutchinson will play host to Cloud County on Saturday at the Sports Arena.
Seward County is receiving votes.
The top 5 teams in the rankings all remain, but in a slightly different order. Trinity Valley remains the unanimous pick for the No. 1 team in the nation. Northwest Florida State is No. 2, Chipola is No. 3, South Georgia Tech is No. 4 and previous No. 3 South Plains is now at No. 5.
Hutchinson has now been ranked in 38-straight ranking periods and 139 of the last 144 polls.
