MAIZE, Kan.—The Hutchinson Salthawks struggled to get their offense going on Friday, getting easily dispatched by Maize South, 13-1 in game 1 of the double-header. Hutch High was run ruled in 5 innings by the Mavericks.
In game 2, the Mavericks got solid pitching and came away with another run rule win, this time in 6 innings 11-1.
Colin Johnson led Maize South with three hits in three at bats knocking in 4 RBI's in the win. Kinser Newquist his a solo home run for the Salthawks lone score.
Next action for the Salthawks will be at home on Tuesday, April 26th when the Bulldogs of Ark City come to Hobart-Detter Field for a double-header with Hutch beginning at 4pm.
