
INDEPENDENCE, Kan. — The No. 21-ranked Hutchinson Community College men’s basketball team picked up its fourth straight win on Wednesday, beating Independence, 108-89.
The 108 points scored mark the fourth time this season the Blue Dragons have hit the century mark.
Hutchinson (8-1, 3-0 KJCCC) shot 52.6 percent from the floor in the win, and finished 21-for-33 at the free throw line.
The Blue Dragons saw ten different players score in the game, including five in double figures.
Zoe Holman finished with a career-high 23 points to lead the Blue Dragons. Dre Weathers had 17, Kobe Smith a career-high 16, JP Rick’s 12 and Kernan Bundy 11.
Independence (1-9, 0-4) turned the ball over 30 times, but also shot 54.5 percent from the floor.
The Pirates saw a career-high from Cory Curtis Jr., who poured in 40 points on 15-for-23 shooting.
Hutchinson returns to the Sports Arena to play Pratt on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
