Experience History Through Storytelling
Meet the Ganyon’s : Educational Storytelling or Historical Reenactments for 40 years; this is Natalee Ganyon’s passion. Jim and Natalee are dedicated to connecting the past to the present through stories. Life is best grown in ‘real time’ with real stories.
Meet the Ganyon’s
Natalee grew up in Great Bend and lived in Albuquerque for 40 years. Natalee is a retired PreK/K teacher certified in Recreation Therapy. She used puppets then storytelling with students/ After her husband passed, she moved back in 2015 to home state Kansas. ‘There’s no place like home.’ Five years later, she met Jim on skype after his wife had passed. (Remember skyping?! Lol)
Jim as former veteran, fireman, law enforcement and teacher came equipped from Nevada for assisting Natalee in storytelling. His grandparents were from Cottonwood Falls. When the Ganyon’s met, Jim had 40 puppets! Natalee had 25 puppets. The rest is history.
Natalee has been featured on Good Day Kansas regarding puppet programs. Recently she was on KWCH Channel 12 connecting her Kansas Roots in Navarre KS to our nation’s 250th anniversary. www.storiesandmore.me Call or text

Presentations
Would you like to meet Martha Washington and their friend Robert Morris or another man from the Boston tea party? Would you like to meet two of the Pilgrims that sailed the Mayflower in1620? Or meet a model who worked for Gordon Parks? How about hearing Persia’s Queen Esther story, ‘You are here for such a time as this?” These portrayals start with 5th grade and go through adults up to 100. What century would you like to hear a woman’s story in history? 1600’s,1700’s,1800’s,1900’s, or 600 BC?
With puppets as sidekicks, you have a choice of Kansas history programs such as our flag symbols with Santa Fe trail stories or stories about life on the farm 100+ years ago.
Students from PreK to 4th grade enjoy these programs with puppet sidekicks. Folk Artist Natalee Ganyon can relate over 100 folk tales, classic holiday stories or true tales of inspiration. She also has folk tales that teach Spanish. “It’s about the story.”
In addition to live programs, there is a chest of artifacts for the era that is portrayed on that day.
