Pratt – JuliaMae Hembree, 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Pratt Health and Rehab in Pratt, KS. She was born December 11, 1937, in Pratt, the daughter Clarence D. and LaVenia E. (Patterson) Willard.
She graduated from Pratt High School and attended Wichita State University where she received her Associates Degree in Social Work. She worked for the State of Kansas for over 16 years. She was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader in the Pratt area for many years. She was recruited to an ARO leader and received a Silver Beaver award. JuliaMae was also a commissioner for the Girls Scouts. JuliaMae was a very active volunteer at the Pratt Regional Medical Center logging in over 5,000 hours of volunteer work. On August 27, 1955, she married John F. Hembree in Pratt, KS. He died on March 23, 1999.
JuliaMae was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; a sister, Clarene McHenry; and son-in-law, Phillip Eubank.
She is survived by her five children, Annetta Eubank, Brenda (Wes) Watson, Cindy (Lonnie) Wagner, John (Barbara) Hembree, and James (Holli) Hembree; siblings, Wanda Castleberry, Joan Casey, William Willard, and Dan (Rayetta) Willard; 10 grandchildren, LyCynda Watson, Ben Watson, Molly Watson, Crystal Eubank, Madison Hambree, LaVenia Wagner, Jerica Hembree, Erica Hembree, Jamison Hembree, and Jermiah Hembree; and one great grandson, Rexley McClendon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the west shelter in Lemon Park, Pratt, KS. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS 67502.
