HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Cosmosphere is providing funding for up to 30 Kansas K-12 teachers through the LaunchLearning fellowship.
"It serves two purposes," said Mimi Meridith with Cosmosphere. "The first is really to give those thirty educators from across the state of Kansas a lift, to give them a sense of connectivity to other like minded professionals, to give them resources and access to subject matter experts that otherwise they would never have. They have a chance to perhaps meet some astronauts, to come to a unique summer camp experience at the Cosmosphere together and to really light the fire under the way they present STEM education subjects in their classrooms."
The LaunchLearning fellowship begins March 9. The priority application deadline is Feb. 7.
LaunchLearning is available to school districts across the state," Merideth said. "It is fee based, but very reasonably based. These 30 educators will be learning to use that and become the experts in their schools on LaunchLearning, but also we hope that they become just incredibly passionate about science education."
Applications are available on the LaunchNext website, or you can email [email protected].
