SPRING HILL, Kan.-The Hutchinson Salthawks Boy's basketball team built a big lead in the 1st quarter 15-9, then saw it disappear to trail 22-20 to Olathe South, but got a big 3pt. basked right before half to lead 23-22. That was the wake-up call that the Salthawks needed as they pulled away from the Falcons in the 2nd half to win their 3rd game in a row 50-35 over Olathe South in the 2nd round of the Spring Hill Invitational Thursday night.
Hutchinson was led by Nic Langeand Garrett Robertson with 14 points each. Lange's big night included 6 straight free throws in the 2nd half. Dauntay King with another strong performance with 10 points.
Hutchinson is now 5-5 on the season while Olathe South falls to 7-3.
Hutchinson will play Blue Valley South West who defeated Glendale, Missouri 67 to 34 in the other semi-final game. That game will tip off at 8:15pm on Friday night.
