AUGUSTA, Kan.-The Hutchinson Monarchs continued their winning ways Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over the Kansas Cannons in Augusta.
Jaden Gustafson went two for four, scored two runs including his third home run of the season. Jarrett Flaggert added another RBI to help the Monarchs run their record to 19-7 on the season.
Ian Regal was impressive only giving up two hits over six innings pitched to get the win and improve his ERA to 1.51 on the season.
With the win, the Monarchs are now on top of the Jayhawk Summer League standings at 18-7. The Derby Twins and Kansas Cannons are each a game back in the second half of the season standings.
The Monarchs return home on Wednesday night vs the Newton Rebels. Hutch plays seven of their final nine games at home over the next eleven days.
