HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Dr. Jessica Poteet, D.O. is a new OB/GYN at the Hutchinson Clinic.
"I'm from Oklahoma," Poteet said. "I actually trained in Oklahoma as well. I grew up in the Tulsa area. I went to medical school in Tulsa. I did residency in Oklahoma City."
Poteet comes from Utica Park Clinic of Owasso, Oklahoma. She said she and her husband were looking for a place to call home.
"We were looking for a place to really settle our family and kind of put down roots and really get involved in a community," Poteet said. "He's from a small town. I'm obviously from a little bit larger city and we kind of wanted something that meets in the middle, where we have lots of opportunities to be involved in activities, but also have that small town feel where everyone looks out for each other and really cares about each other."
Poteet is passionate about her practice with all ages of women in both obstetrics and gynecology.
"With both of those things, you get to see women grow," Poteet said. "You get to kind of see them kind of come into themselves and be empowered with their health and become involved with their health and you get to see them through some of the biggest moments in their lives."
