WICHITA, Kan. - Thanks to a 10th inning walk-off single from Charlie Overstreet, Lonestar, TX defeated Houston, TX MVP Prospects in the NBC World Series powered by Evergy on Monday night at Eck Stadium.

Overstreet led Lonestar offensively with two hits in four at-bats and Roberto Gonzalez of Houston, TX MVP Prospects came up with two hits in five at-bats.

Following an error by the Lonestar defense, the Prospects struck first in the top of the first inning thanks to an RBI triple by Gonzalez. Lonestar tied things up in the bottom of the third, scoring the tying run off a sacrifice fly to center field.

A sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning allowed the Prospects to grab the 2-1 lead, carrying the lead into the ninth inning by coming up with a 6-4-3 double play to prevent the tying run. Lonestar had the tying run advance to second base off a stolen base and later advancing to third off a fielding error, with a sacrifice fly scoring the tying run and forcing extra innings.

Lonestar forced a shutout inning in the top of the 10th inning, with Overstreet coming up with the game-winning bases-loaded single to advance Lonestar into the winner’s bracket.
