HUTCHINSON, Kan. — No. 7 Butler entered the Sports Arena undefeated on Saturday, but could not escape unblemished.
Hutchinson (10-2, 4-2) took a 32-24 halftime lead after trailing early in the second quarter.
Mel Kailahi led the Dragons at the break with 14 points. No other player between the teams had more than seven (Butler's Kaylee Nero).
That lead stretched to 18 after three and to 24 in the final three minutes before Butler pulled back within 18.

The Grizzlies are now 10-1.
Hutchinson shot 45.3% and held Butler to 31%.
Tor'e Alford finished with 19 points and eight assists.
Kailahi added 18 points and nine rebounds.
Kaylin Ervin and Mya Williams each contributed 14 points.
The Dragons assisted on 18 of 24 made baskets.
